Overview:
The Lyric Repertory Company, a professional theatre company at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, seeks a professional, experience Wardrobe Manager.
The position is seasonal (May 20, 2024-July 30, 2024) and full-time with onsite residency required.
Responsibilities: The Wardrobe Manager holds a pivotal role, overseeing all wardrobe operations throughout the season to ensure costumes maintain their pristine quality from opening night to the final performance.
Collaborating closely with the Wig/Hair specialist, they receive training to impeccably maintain wigs and hair looks throughout the duration of the season.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with the costume shop manager to facilitate smooth costume load-ins, managing wardrobe crew, and assigning dressers to performers and specific tasks.
They meticulously organize and supervise all costume changes, collaborating with stage management to designate backstage areas and rehearse swift transitions.
Moreover, the Wardrobe Manager is entrusted with the ongoing care of costumes, conducting repairs as necessary and ensuring regular laundering.
During season strike, they assist the shop manager with final laundry, dry cleaning, restocking, and venue cleaning to wrap up operations seamlessly.
Ideal candidates possess the stamina to work extended hours and adapt to a flexible schedule, along with a willingness to travel and work across multiple venues.
Qualifications: Qualification: A working understanding of theatre and production practices.
A working knowledge of costume construction techniques, tools, and equipment.
Firm understanding of costuming and costume crafts.
Strong understanding of fabric care.
Demonstrated costume construction skills.
Demonstrated experience as a Dresser.
Demonstrated experience as Wardrobe Head.
Professional wardrobe experience preferred.
Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work site.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A calm confident presence during chaotic production periods.
A positive, collaborative attitude and strong work ethic.
Self-motivated with a strong team orientation.
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
