The tasks that are essential to perform the functions of this position are:
Supervise the activities of travel center personnel:
Interview and select new employees.
Provide appropriate training, and monitor the effectiveness of that training with employees.
Provide Performance Appraisal process with employees.
Praise, discipline, and counsel as appropriate.
Develop work schedules and time sheets, etc.
Maintain appropriate quantities of merchandise for sale.
Purchase merchandise, and approve invoices for payment.
Secure best prices possible for purchased merchandise.
Attend trade shows occasionally to remain knowledgeable of current trends in the marketplace.
Perform inventory control measures.
Prepare and maintain annual labor and merchandise budgets.
Perform sales functions as needed.
Perform the essential job functions of all positions at the Travel Center as needed.
Ensure proper function and maintenance of all fuel dispensing equipment and facilities.
Generate Purchase Orders and acquire necessary Travel Center supplies and paper goods.
Participate in the annual Travel Center budgeting process and adhere to budget through budget year.
Maintain appropriate inventory of fuels, equipment, and supplies.
Participate in maintaining the appearance of the Travel Center.
Perform annual and other inventories.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to ascend or descend rung ladders, scaffolding, and the like safely and with agility; to work safely in elevated places; and to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling from precarious situations.
Ability to move body to floor level and move about.
Ability to extend arm(s) in any direction.

Ability to substantially press against something with a steady force in order to push forward, downward, or outward, to exert a considerable force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
